Actes - New American Bible
Livre des hauts faits des apôtres. Il est écrit vers 80 par Luc, l'auteur de l'évangile qui porte ce nom. Il contient le récit des premiers temps de l'Eglise dont il nous montre la propagation de Jérusalem à Rome. Il se divise en deux grandes parties : (1-12) l'Eglise à Jérusalem, (à partir de 13) Paul et ses voyages missionnaires et se termine à Rome. La valeur historique est parfois mise au second plan par l'auteur, apologiste enthousiaste. Cependant il permet de suivre les étapes de la progression de l'évangile dans le monde romain de l'époque, et donne des détails précieux sur l'église primitive, des discours de l'apostolat de Pierre et le cadre historique pour situer les épîtres de Paul. On trouve des teintes aramaïsantes dans les douzes premiers chaptires, mais le style est souple et plastique.
