1Corinthiens - New American Bible

L'église de Corinthe fut fondée par Paul lors de son second voyage missionnaire pendant le séjour de 18 mois de 50 à 52. Dès que Paul quitte la ville, les difficultés commencent. Paul est intervenu dans une première lettre (perdue) à laquelle il fait allusion. Des joutes d'idées et de mots augmentées par la venue d'Apollos et d'autres missionnaires se recommandant de Képhas (Pierre) suscitent partis et coteries. Dans le même temps, arrivent aux oreilles de Paul divers désordres moraux. Paul répond à cette situation délicate.
