Exode - New American Bible
L'Exode empreint d'une interprétation nationale et religieuse est rédigé du point de vue des vainqueurs. Il évoque la servitude des hébreux (Ex 1), le récit de la vocation de Moïse (Ex 2-4), et se poursuit par la sortie d'Egypte (Ex 5-18) pour se clore à la révélation du Sinaï et la conclusion de l'Alliance (Ex 19-24). La fin du livre est composé d'instructions sur la construction du sanctuaire et les vêtements des prêtres (Ex 25-31). La Terre promise n'est pas encore accessible et l'idolâtrie sévit (Ex 32), pourtant Dieu poursuit son dialogue (Ex 33-34), le livre se termine sur la construction du sanctuaire et la liturgie (Ex 35-40). Les courants théologiques s'accordent ici sur la notion d'Alliance et sur le don de la Loi, fondement de l'alliance.
