Isaïe - New American Bible
Le prophète Isaïe agit en plusieurs périodes : vers 735 sous le roi Achaz et vers 725 puis 701 sous Ezéchias. Une légende le fait mourir martyr sous Manassé. Le livre qui porte son nom comporte 66 chapitres. On distingue aujourd'hui couramment trois parties correspondant à trois périodes successives allant du VIIIème au Vème siècle. Le Premier Isaïe (1-39) est constitué de diverses collections d'oracles. Les paroles que l'on dit se rapporter à Isaïe se trouvent en Is 1-11; Is 13-23 ; Is 28-32 et peut être Is 36-39. Le Second Isaïe (40-55) date de la fin de l'exil. Prédication d'un prophète anonyme sur le thème du salut. Le Troisième Isaïe (55-66) serait une oeuvre postérieure à l'Exil de plusieurs auteurs. Il dénonce le péché du peuple élu et évoque la restauration de Jérusalem. Les chants du Serviteur, au nombre de quatre, et la grande apocalypse sont considérés comme des oeuvres d'auteurs tardifs Is 42,1-4 49,1-6 50,4-9 52,13-53,12 et 24-27.
